Getting ready for the Holidays?

It’s November 15th, and we’re heading into the busiest time of the year.  Cleaning, cooking, shopping, traveling, decorating, waiting in line, sitting in traffic, stringing lights, shoveling snow, and all around Merry-making will fill our days and nights fuller than your stomach when the pies come out on Thanksgiving Day.  Personal experience tells me that in this busy season it is very easy to miss my prayer and devotional time with Jesus.  I need that time more to counteract the extra stresses of the season; yet I am often too tired, too distracted, or too busy to make it happen.

Planning ahead can help.  Before you find yourself tangled in the lights and up to your neck in cranky relatives take a few moments to schedule some time with Jesus on your calendar.  Make a daily appointment.  Do it now…trust me, you’ll be glad you did!

Here are some opportunities that can help you to turn off the business of the season and spend some time in devotion and prayer with Messiah Lutheran Church in Lynnfield, MA.
