“Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to act. Do not say to your neighbor, ‘Come back tomorrow and I’ll give it to you’— when you already have it with you.” Proverbs 3:27-28
The Boy Scouts had it right: Always be prepared. Peter agrees in I Peter 3:10-18. That’s how Jesus lived too. He was always ready to show love to people wherever and whenever he met them. He fed 5000 people out in the countryside, he raised a child from the dead when we passed by the funeral procession, and he healed a woman from bleeding who reached out and touched the hem of his robes.
Jesus was always ready to love. Today His body, the church, carries that ministry into the world by preparing ourselves to be ready to love whomever we meet. Keep your eyes open for people to love. God will prepare the way!
