Hebrews 11:1 (Day 11/50)

“Faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.” Hebrews 11:1

You really need to read the whole chapter. Hebrews 11:1 just gives you a taste of what faith looks like. It’s forward looking, and is related to HOPE. It’s otherworldly because it’s about spiritual stuff that cannot be seen with out physical eyes. Faith is really amazing, and you really need to read the whole chapter to get a sense of the kinds of thing that faith can get you to do.

Hebrews 11 gives example after example of people who lived by faith. People like Moses believed what couldn’t be seen. He talked to God in a burning bush, followed God through the wilderness, and led the nation of Israel out of slavery from Egypt. People like Noah who built an ark before the rain started to fall because he believed God’s words. People like Joshua who knocked down walls with a marching band because they believed God’s promises. People did amazing things by faith.

So can you. What are you hoping for? What is God doing that only you can see? What is your faith in Jesus leading you to today? Don’t hesitate to believe! Have faith! Be hopeful! Be convinced! Live by Faith!

Dear Jesus, strengthen my faith in you. Amen.
